UC Davis Transfer

1st Year Expectations

As a first year AvenueB cohort member, you will kick off your UC Davis experience by participating in the Transfer Bridge Program.
Following your attendance at Transfer Bridge, your AvenueB participation will continue throughout the academic year and actively participate in weekly connection meetings.
Participate in additional events, workshops, industry/lab tours, student panels and more, as available.
Provide constructive feedback to help enhance the AvenueB program for current and future program participants.
Maintain good academic standing as determined by the College of Biological Sciences.
Maintain regular contact with your industry/faculty mentor to be assigned in the fall quarter.
Utilize academic support services such as tutoring, leveraging peer mentors, resource sharing and targeted academic advising.

As a second year AvenueB cohort member, you will be expected to continue your involvement in the program in the following ways:

Participate in the AvenueB Second Year Experience, a 2-day intensive workshop.
Attend monthly cohort meetings
Students should participate in at least one co-curricular post UC Davis prep activity in the academic year (a related position to your major)
Students must complete three acts of service, one hour each, per academic quarter. Examples of service activities include:
- Serve on student panels for prospective transfer students to share UC Davis experience or on panels for incoming UC Davis students
- Host a visiting CC student for a day or an overnight
- Sign-up to be a peer mentor for a prospective transfer student. Peer mentors should connect at least 3 times during the CC spring semester with their mentees
- Assist with program events and activities
- Serve as a peer advisor for the newest AvenueB cohort.

Program cohort members will participate in scheduled connection meetings, group outings, social activities, speakers, and workshops providing opportunities to engage in peer-to-peer learning, community building, and career exploration.
Cohort members are eligible for scholarly awards a maximum of two academic years as a full-time student as funding allows. Students who plan to enroll part-time for any quarter other than the one quarter during their final year in which they are allowed, by UC Davis, to attend part-time, need to consult with the Cohort/Program Advisor.
Students must maintain an overall 3.0 GPA
Meet with Cohort/Program Advisor at least once a quarter
