UC Davis AvenueB Contacts

Person

The Avenue B staff is committed to supporting students from UC Davis and partner community colleges. Their goal is to provide a comprehensive support system that informs and guides students on diverse academic and professional development opportunities, both on and off campus. By collaborating with university and community college partners, the team ensures that students make the most of available resources and offices, fostering success at their respective schools.

The Avenue system, developed by the STEM Strategies team in 2016, is designed to serve high-potential, low-resource students who possess and demonstrate commitment or potential for leadership to positively impact the elimination barriers that prevent full participation of women and those historically underrepresented in STEM careers. This model is heavily reliant on partnership with area community colleges to streamline the transfer process, often referred to as the transfer maze.  The STEM Strategies team serves as advisors to individual programs and consults to help the model scale and adapt to new disciplines.
